Geekcon brings together some of the best makers, designers, hackers and engineers in Israel and abroad for a weekend dedicated to the promotion of “out of the box” creativity and “hands-on” innovation.
Geekcon challenges participants to overcome technical barriers and quickly build super crazy inventions within a 52 hour period of time (Thursday to Saturday). The only way to get in is by teaming up to build something useless, no project, no entry.
Geekcon is a series of events leading the maker movement in Israel. Founded in 2005, Geekcon was inspired by innovative gatherings such as Burning Man and FooCamp. We are a non-profit, invitation only platform often referred to as a summer camp for geeks.
In 2015 we plan on holding our major event in September, the ecological 3 day Geekcon•Green in April, Geekcon•Art 3 day event in October, and 2 single day events Geekcon•Med and Geekcon•Blue sometime in the later half of the year.
GeekCon X will be held Thursday to Saturday, September 18th – 20th starting at 10:00, at Sdot Yam, Caesarea.
