Q: What do I have to do to participate?
A
: A project or a hands-on workshop.

Q: Do I need to register the entire team?
A: Yes. All team members must fill in the application form and receive participation confirmation.

Q: Who do the ideas raised at the make-a-thon belong to?
A: The ideas are owned by the inventor/s.

Q. Should I prepare the project in advance or work on it in the event?
A.
We prefer that the entire project be built at Geekcon Green, but if you’re worried about completing it you can prepare parts of it in advance.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: NIS 344 (until the end of March). The sum includes sleeping accommodations and food (excluding the first dinner, which all participants prepare together)

Q: What should I bring?
A: You need to bring all the tools and equipment you need for your project. We take care of electricity, a bit of internet (In a good day. Tethering recommended), In addition bring a towel, toiletries, food for shared supper on the first evening (there will be a list to sign-up for grocery purchasing)

Q: How do I pay?
A: As part of the registration process, approved participants will receive a link to pay online. Advanced payment only. Credit card or PayPal.

Q: Will you provide tools and materials, or do I have to bring my own?
A
: It’s best to bring what you need to work.

Q: Can I arrange to ride with other people?
A: We encourage participants to travel together, a list for ride-share will be distributed to approved participants.

Q: Where do we sleep?
A: In shared rooms. The venue supplies beds and bedding.

Q. What about religious people?
A.
Geekcon Green starts at 10:00 on Thursday, and continues non-stop until Saturday afternoon, where the projects are displayed in front of the visitors. Attending only part of the event is not an option. It is up to you to decide whether this suits you or not.

Q. Can visitors come?
A.
There are NO visitors allowed during the event, due to safety and insurance issues. The event is held in a gated, guarded compound and no one is allowed in, unless they are registered participants. Visitors are only allowed on Saturday afternoon, at around 15:00, and not before that. Please comply.

Q. Are pets allowed?
A. NO
, pets are not allowed.

Q. What isthe Geekcon Precon meeting?
A
. Prior to Geekcon Green we will hold a Geekcon Green Precon event, intended for pairing-up with team members, sharing ideas for projects, introductions for new participants and more.

Q. How can I help?
A. Geekcon is a Non-Profit Organization, and your admission is used to cover the costs of the event. All Geekcon Staff are volunteers. If you’d like to join the organizing team, contact us at info@geekcon.org.

Geekcon is all about making, innovation and collaboration around projects & technology, we kindly ask you to put aside any political / religious issues throughout the Geekcon events.
